Sail Darwin offers genuine sailing aboard a 50ft luxury catamaran, from 3 hour daytime, sunset, and overnight cruises on our beautiful harbour, or extended sailing cruises from 4 – 14 days to the Tiwi Islands, The Kimberley coastline, East Timor, The Spice Islands and beyond.

A sunset sail on Darwin harbour is a must for every visitor to Darwin – join us for our signature Champagne Sunset Sail. This is a great opportunity to get out on the harbour, watch amazing sunsets, enjoy fabulous food and just to experience that feeling of freedom sailing on the wind brings.Enjoy free champagne and a delicious dinner aboard, plus the chance to spot dolphins surfing the bow, turtles, and dugongs. And of course some of the most spectacular sunset skies you’ll ever see. Enthusiastic guests are welcome to assist the crew in settings the sails, taking the helm, and learning the ropes under the patient and watchful eye of our captain David.
Sundancer is 15m x 8m catamaran specifically designed for cruising in tropical conditions. Fully airconditioned through-out, Sundancer NT has 4 double cabins and 4 single beds and can comfortably accommodate 10 guests for extended periods, or up to 28 guests for harbour cruises.

David Woodrow – Captain
David is a born and bred Darwin local with more than 20 years at the helm. His experience including captaining a 90 ft classic sailing vessel around the South Pacific Indian Ocean; pearl diving, sail training, delivery of multiple vessels from America and Europe to Australia and New Zealand; and leading sailing charters around the Whitsunday Islands, the South Pacific, and the Caribbean.
David is qualified to teach sailing and diving as well as having Master IV and Marine Engineer qualifications.
David has previously led sailing charters around the Whitsundays, the South Pacific, and the Caribbean.
David loves: kite surfing, snorkeling, and anywhere 20 degrees either side of the equator!

Joelle Woodrow – Hostess / Crew member
Jo speaks four languages fluently, has three degrees including one in tourism and one in hospitality management, and has 8 years experience at sea. She’s a whizz in the kitchen and her roles have included deckhand, sous chef, hostess, conducting snorkelling tours, and relief skippering.
Now living in Darwin with her partner Dave and their gorgeous young son, Jo works part time as a travel agent and part time on Sundancer NT. She is passionate about making sure guests have absolutely the best time possible aboard and that they take home with them memories to last a lifetime.
Jo loves: Motherhood, outdoors, sun and warmth (not too much though), snorkelling, beach, discovering new things, new landscapes, travelling, being independant, sleeping in, latino music, taking photos, sweets…..
Achievements she’s most proud of: giving birth to a beautiful little baby, made the jump and moved to Australia
